10-site grid connection programme for Pan African Towers

Pan African Towers needed a group of diesel-dependent telecom sites in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos moved onto grid power — quickly, and without disrupting live network equipment. Ionir Integral was engaged as turnkey contractor for a 10-site programme.

The challenge

Each site had different conditions: distance from the nearest 11kV line, access roads, compound space and existing generator setups. The programme also had to move through DisCo approvals on a tight schedule.

Our approach

We ran the sites as a single programme with a standard design adapted per site: route survey, approvals, materials procurement in bulk, then parallel civil and line crews. Each substation was integrated with the existing generator through an ATS panel, so sites switch automatically between grid and diesel.

The result

All 10 sites were handed over working on grid within three months, each with test results and geotagged photo records for the client's site files.
